About Small Space Paws

Small Space Paws is about one problem: sharing a small home with an animal without the home turning into a kennel. Cat rooms in one-bedroom apartments, litter boxes with nowhere obvious to go, dog corners in a rental you cannot drill into, catios on a balcony the lease barely allows. Practical setups, and the gear that makes them work.

Most pet advice assumes a house with a spare room. Most small-space advice assumes nobody in the home has claws. This site sits in the gap.

What we do not cover

We write about spaces, furniture and gear. We do not write about animal health, nutrition, medication or behavior problems, and nothing here is veterinary advice. Those questions deserve a professional who has met your animal, and we are not going to pretend otherwise for the sake of traffic.

How we choose products

We are not sent free product and we do not pick things because they are trending. Every recommendation starts with a real constraint, a corner with no floor left, a window with no sill, a lease that forbids screws, and works backward to the kind of product that solves it.

Anything we link has been opened and checked on the retailer's own product page, not taken from a search listing. We hold a floor of at least 4.2 stars and 150 reviews, because a handful of glowing reviews on a new listing tells you very little. We also check the thing is genuinely still in stock, since a dead link helps nobody.

Where a product category does not really exist, we say so instead of recommending the nearest thing that does. Renters ask us for no-drill wall shelves constantly, and the honest answer is that almost every wall shelf needs an anchor.
